Curlers notified of exposure to COVID-19 at Kamloops Curling Club event

KAMLOOPS — Members of the Kamloops Curling Club have been notified they may have to self-isolate after a bonspiel at the club resulted in exposure to COVID-19.

According to the club’s website, the 71st Annual Men’s Sportsmans Bonspiel was scheduled to take place on March 12 to 15th.

CFJC Today has obtained an email from the club, which includes a message from Interior Health warning members they “may have been exposed to an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 during the Sportsman’s Curling Bonspiel in Kamloops.”

The message goes on to tell members who attended the bonspiel they are required to self-isolate for 14 days as a result of the exposure and to monitor for symptoms.

The message from IH Communicable Disease Specialist Kristen Hanson also says “If you develop symptoms during your 14 day home isolation, please continue your home isolation for ten days from onset of symptoms – as long as you are feeling well and no longer have a fever, runny nose, and sore throat.”
