KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops has announced it is activating its Emergency Operations Centre in response to COVID-19.

According to the city’s website, the move came after Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced a ban on public gatherings over 50 people Monday (March 16).

The City says it is “identifying impacts to City venues, programs, and services.”

The note goes on to say the City is reviewing options as the ban on gatherings relates to the upcoming referendum into borrowing for a performing arts centre.
