More than 150 traffic tickets issued in Kamloops on Friday
KAMLOOPS — A targetted traffic enforcement in Kamloops last week ended with dozens of tickets being given out for distracted driving.
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says on Friday (March 6), the City’s traffic unit, the Southeast District Integrated Road Safety Unit, and Central Interior Traffic Services conducted roadside checks on Columbia Street, Lansdowne Street, and Tranquille Road.
Officers issued a total of 156 violation tickets — 88 were for using an electronic device and 50 were for failing to wear a seatbelt.
The other 18 violations were other infractions including littering from a motor vehicle, no driver’s licence and no insurance.
