KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a recent traffic stop took a significant drug haul off the street.

On January 31, Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) officers stopped a prohibited driver in the parking lot of a Valleyview motel.

The man behind the wheel tried to take off on foot and resisted arrest when an officer caught up with him, and the vehicle’s passenger was arrested when he tried to step in.

In addition to nearly $3,000 in cash, a search of the driver resulted in the seizure of 262 grams of drugs suspected to be cocaine, crack cocaine and methamphetamine.
