Truck crashes into front of Aberdeen home

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: No one was injured when a pickup truck slammed into a home in Aberdeen Monday (Feb. 10).

Emergency responders were called to 688 Fleming Drive at about 12:30, finding a Toyota Tacoma that had careened into the home’s living room and was still partially inside.

According to Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, the driver of the truck has admitted to hitting the gas pedal instead of the brake.

Nonetheless, Shelkie says it’s likely a mechanical inspection of the truck will still be completed. Driver impairment is not considered a factor.

Shelkie says the truck will need to remain in place until a structural engineer confirms that part of the home is not in danger of collapsing if the truck is removed.
