Sun Peaks donates $10k winter vacation package to aid Australia

KAMLOOPS — Sun Peaks Resort has put together an “ultimate Canadian winter getaway” in order to support bushfire relief efforts in Australia.

The package, which will be auctioned off by Snow Aid Australia, is valued at more than $10,000.

Carmen Ruiz with Tourism Sun Peaks says the whole community wanted to donate what it could.

“In the prize package we have two return tickets from Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney, as well as seven nights accommodation for two and lift tickets, performance rentals and gift certificates that can be used throughout the resort,” Ruiz said.

Ruiz says Sun Peaks is home to many Australian staff and residents and has thousands of Australian guests every year.
