Search underway for missing teen at Sun Peaks

EARLIER: A search is underway for a missing teenager in the Sun Peaks area.

The boy has been identified by family members as 14-year-old Carson Hadwin.

On February 2, 2020, RCMP say the teenaged boy took a shuttle to Sun Peaks in the morning. It has been confirmed that he used the chairlift up the mountain during the day. However, he failed to catch the shuttle back to Kamloops in the afternoon. The boy’s parents were contacted who then advised police.

The boy has been identified by family members online Carson Hadwin.

Kamloops Search and Rescue is conducting the search for the boy today. (Monday).

A family member says the boy was wearing a white coat with green markings and black pants. He was also wearing a black helmet and white snowboard boots.

“We have been searching for the boy since yesterday when he was first reported missing,” stated Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. “Currently there are RCMP officers, the Police Dog Service and Kamloops Search and Rescue scouring the mountain for any sign of the snowboarder.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP or Kamloops Search and Rescue.
