City of Kamloops looks for help building electric vehicle plan

KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops would like your help as it develops its own electric vehicle (EV) and electric bike (E-bike) strategy.

In a news release, Sustainability Supervisor Glen Cheetham says a local strategy will support the province’s plan to transitioning to more electric vehicle use.

The strategy is meant to develop “targets, policies and actions” on how the municipal government operation can influence EV and E-bike use.

For now, the city hopes you can take five minutes to fill out a survey on electric vehicles.

The City is also hosting an engagement session on Feb. 26, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sandman Centre’s Valley First Lounge.
