CMHA BC says no timeline on hiring new executive director in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — The Canadian Mental Health Association is operating Rosethorn House with 24/7 services, but it’s doing so in the absence of an executive director.
The non-profit terminated former executive director of the local Kamloops branch Christa Mullaly after she was suspended last year. But the CEO of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s B.C. branch Jonny Morris said on Monday the operation of the modular housing units is ‘business as usual,’ despite the absence of an executive director.
“We have an excellent management team in place here locally,” said Morris. “You’ve met Alfred [Achoba], our acting leader, and a number of the staff are here today. BC CMHA, as a family, we’ve been offering that support and we’ll offer that support for a little bit longer.”
