KAMLOOPS β€” A new Trades Assistant program is being launched at Thompson Rivers University, for students with disabilities who need extra supports.

The program will be for those interested in working in construction, warehousing or landscaping.

The 32-week program starts in February and combines classroom, lab and practical experience on and off campus.

Project manager Jane Horton says students will be provided with hands-on, project-based and experiential learning opportunities.

β€œIt has a six-week, off-campus practicum that provides work experience for students and hands-on, practical experience on campus or in the community throughout the program,” she said in a news release.

Those interested are asked to apply as soon as possible.
