Rash of auto crime in North Okanagan
VERNON, B.C. — Many vehicle owners continue to be victimized by what police say is a very preventable crime.
Mounties have received close to 60 reports over the last month of items stolen from vehicles around the North Okanagan.
“The items stolen have ranged from money, suitcases, ski equipment, purses, wallets, tools, sunglasses and computers. Some vehicles had been left unlocked, and some had their windows smashed to steal the items inside,” Jocelyn Noseworthy, media relations officer for Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said.
Noseworthy said the advice is to lock vehicle doors, and not leave anything of value in your car.
