Blazers boost back-end with Zabransky, deal Lang to Moose Jaw

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have strengthened their back-end with an import-for-import trade.

Kamloops acquired 19-year-old defenceman Libor Zabransky from the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for 18-year-old forward Martin Lang.

Zabransky captained the junior team from the Czech Republic in the recent World Junior Hockey Championships.

This is Zabransky’s third team this season. He began the year with Saskatoon before being dealt to Moose Jaw and has 11 points on the season.

Zabransky began his WHL career with Kelowna in 2017.

Lang, also from the Czech Republic, was in his second season with Kamloops, registering 19 points in 31 games so far this season.

Neither player has been drafted into the NHL.
