More than 22,000 BC Hydro customers without power in Thompson, Shuswap

CHASE, B.C. — Heavy and wet snowfall in the region has left thousands of BC Hydro customers without power.

BC Hydro says there are extensive outages in the Southern Interior, particularly near Chase, Kamloops, Sorrento, Salmon Arm and 100 Mile House.

Roughly 22,800 customers are without power.

The power corporation says crews are responding as quickly as possible to restore power. Individual restoration updates will be posted to Hydro’s website when they are available.
