Kamloops man injured in North Shore shooting

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are investigating a shooting on the Kamloops North Shore.

According to a news release from Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay, police were called to a disturbance in the 300-block of Alexander Avenue at about 5:19 a.m.

Once there, investigators determined it was a shooting, locating a 24-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds a short distance away.

“The residence and people involved are known to police and are associated to the local drug trade. As such, the shooting is believed to be targeted,” said Pillay.
