RUTH WILSON LEFT THE AFFAIR OVER ‘TOXIC’ ENVIRONMENT: Ruth Wilson left Showtime‘s The Affair abruptly in 2018, and while she is restrained by a non-disclosure agreement, The Hollywood Reporter has spoken with several other parties involved, and has found that she left over pressures to participate in nude scenes and a generally “toxic” environment. “Over and over again, I witnessed [showrunner] Sarah Treem try to cajole actors to get naked even if they were uncomfortable or not contractually obligated to,” one production source said. “It’s things you would think would be coming out of a man’s mouth from the 1950s. The environment was very toxic.” (THR)
EMMA WATSON SKIPS PRESS TOUR OF LITTLE WOMEN: Emma Watson has not joined co-stars Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Laura Dern, Timothee Chalamet and Meryl Streep in the promotion of Little Women, though she did make it the premiere. Page Six reports: “Emma’s reps told Sony that she would only do the premiere. We don’t really know what happened, if she wasn’t happy with the movie or fell out with the cast.” (Page Six)
SURVIVOR TO FEATURE RETURNING WINNERS: Season 40 of Survivor on CBS premieres in February, and the network is bringing in the big guns. Host Jeff Probst reveals that the season will feature 20 previous winners who are returning to earn the title of Survivor once more. Among the cast will be Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine. (People)
