JULY 8 1940 – JULY 8 2016

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear friend Albert Parsons. Albert was born in Vancouver on July 8, 1940 and passed at his home in Barriere on July 8 2016. His 76th birthday. Albert was a kind hearted, gentle, caring soul. He always had a smile for everyone. Everyone he met became his friend. Albert loved people and people loved him. Albert loved to talk, tell jokes and stories; In particular he loved to tell the story of his life. Albert lived with his family in his younger years in the Harrison area. Reaching his teenage years and into adulthood, life became harder. Living in an institution for years, then out on his own for a time, and then moving from one care home to another. Finally, moving to Barriere, for the past 9 years gave Albert the security and comfort he had been searching for. Content, now that he’d finally found what he called his forever home. In no time at all Albert became a well known and proud member of the community. Albert attended every community activity and event he could.

Albert truly enjoyed a love of trains which he shared with his great train buff friend Rick. Albert’s greatest joys in life were trains, big trucks, old movies and music. On any given day you could find Albert out by the road urging big trucks to honk their horns . Or down at the train tracks looking for a train to blow their horn. Albert loved listening and signing to “Old time” music. Music at the “Seniors” and “Monday night music” were highlights of his week. Albert was thrilled up to his last days with “The Bear” radio station. Albert passed away at home, with friends by his side. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Albert is survived by his mother Maria Todd, Sisters; Pamela Titchener, Maryanne Rahn and Patsy Miller (Bill). Brothers ; Lee Todd(Donna) , Jess Todd, and numerous nephews and nieces. As well as his extended family – Rick Bennet and his Barriere House friends and caregivers. Pre deceased by his brothers; Howard Parsons and Bob Doyer.

A Celebration of Albert’s life will be held on Friday July 15th at 9:30 am at the Church of St. Paul 4454 Barriere Town Road, Barriere, BC
