August 5, 1930 to September 3, 2016

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and Nonno, Nunzio Gasparin. Nunzio passed away quietly at the age of 86 years, surrounded by his loving wife of 60 years, Cesira, and his children, Edvige Bucknell (Bert), Antonia Dresler, Rosanna McDonnell (Brett Shepherd), and Roberto Gasparin. He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Angela MacInnes (Nathan), Michael McDonnell, Lea Bucknell, Alexander Dresler (Carly), Twyla Dresler, Catlin Gasparin, Rebecca Monroe and his great grandchildren, Mikayla and Kaytlyn MacInnes and Ryley McDonnell, as well as his siblings, Serena, Olga and Sara, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Italy. Nunzio was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Edevige, as well as his brothers, Antonio and Vasco Gasparin (Elisa), and his sister, Affra.
Born in San Martino di Lupari, Italy on August 5, 1930, Nunzio moved to Canada in 1957 with his bride Cesira. They settled in Kamloops and raised their family here. Nunzio worked various jobs as a general labourer, retiring as a landscaper.
Nunzio’s greatest passion in life was his garden and attending gatherings that had him surrounded by friends, family, good wine, great food, and plenty of sweet treats. Nunzio also loved fishing, tending to his grapes and making wine as well as preparing homemade salami and sausages with his friends and brother.
We love you, Nunzio. You will be forever in our hearts as husband, Dad, Nonno, and friend, sempre.
