It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mary Patricia Price of Kamloops, British Columbia on October 4th, 2016 at RIH at the young age of 88.
Mary was born on the family farm in Melville, Saskatchewan district on March 20th 1928 a daughter of Peter and Sophie Wihlidal. Mary was baptized & confirmed at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Melville, Saskatchewan. Mary attended the Pearl Creek School in the Melville, Sask. District.
When Mary was 8 years old her mother passed away. In her teen years, Mary moved into the town of Melville, Saskatchewan and worked at the Western Produce Co. for a few years, plus other places.
On January 10th 1955 Mary married Russel Price of Waldron, Sask. at the Catholic Church in Melville, Sask. she was blessed with five children, Donald, Diane, Kathy, Gary & Lori.
In 1969 the family moved to Swift Current, Sask. after twelve years of having lived in numerous places in eastern Canada. From Swift Current, Sask. the family moved to Coquitlam, B.C. then to New Westminster, B.C. In 1974 the family moved again, to Quilchena, B.C. until 1977 when the family finally settled in Kamloops B.C.
It was hard for Mary to engage in any outside activity with all the moving, so she concentrated on her children and was busy making a good home for them.
Mary was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Kamloops, B.C. since 1977.
Mary leaves to mourn her passing, her son Donald (Angie), grandchildren Rick, Pamela, Ryan and Barbara. Her daughter Diane Twan (Adria), grandchildren Jane & Carla. Daughter Kathy, grandchildren Lewissa and Amara. Son Gary, grandchildren Andre and Justin. Daughter Lori, grandchildren Alex and Jessica. Also nine great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 635 Tranquille Rd. Kamloops, B.C. Father Paul Simms officiating. With reception to follow.
