Joanne Maxine Gilbert of Kamloops, BC passed away on October 9, 2016.

She is survived by her children Andrea of Windsor, ON, Joe of Kamloops, BC, Tom of Windsor, ON, Cylas of Windsor, ON, Roy of Nanaimo, BC, grandchildren Sarah, Ashley and Gemma as well as one great Grandchild.

Joanne was predeceased by her brother Brad, her sisters Cheryl, Barb and Bernice, her mother Edith and father Max.

Joanne will be remembered for her love of everyone. She always had a warm smile and would without hesitation give you the shirt off her back if it was needed. Joanne had studied sociology, penology and criminology but required a pardon from the government in order to obtain her papers. She tried hard to obtain this and spiraled back into a hard life after being denied the pardon. We believe not just because of her past but because of some of the children had records. She however still had her children in her life and was not willing to change that and we will always love her for that. She was stubborn but understanding and never wanted to be alone. We all love and miss her but no one more that her son Jo Jo.

A Memorial Service will take place at the Interior Indian Friendship Society Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 12:00 pm. The family would like to thank everyone that was there for her. Memorial donations may be made to Joseph Waliyorski 306-196 Yew Street, Kamloops.
