May 29, 1952 – December 22, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick “Pat” Owen Rozek on December 22, 2016 at the age of 64.
He is lovingly remembered by Noreen, his wife of 43 years, his daughter Nadine (Dave) Keyworth, his sons Kevin (Kathryn), Paul (Carole) and Dave (Kirsten), his seven grandchildren Jonathan, Rebecca, Sydney, Zachary, Brycen, Talia and Marlo; his siblings John Rozek, Allan (Kathy) Rozek, Judy (Shawn) Kelly and Christine Collins and many nieces, nephews , extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Peggy.
Pat worked in the mining industry for many years and later in life worked in construction.
Other than his family, Pat’s greatest passion in life was hockey. More than just a fan, he was a fixture in the arenas in Kamloops for 39 years. He was heavily involved in Kamloops Minor Hockey. For the last 25 years Pat was the scorekeeper for the Kamloops Blazers, a volunteer position which he cherished and deeply enjoyed. He took great pride in his meticulous score sheets and the many opportunities it led to including keeping score during the 2010 Olympics and severall Hockey Canada events.
If asked, Pat would say his greatest accomplishment was his children and his grandchildren. There was rarely an opportunity where he wouldn’t share his pride in all of them.
His friendly, welcoming smile will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
Prayers will be recited on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Andrew L’Heureux celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. A Celebration of Pat’s life will continue at 12:30 p.m. in the Parkside Lounge, Sandman Centre.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Darcy Robinson Memorial Fund, at HSBC, 380 Victoria Street, Kamloops (250 372 7141). The fund goes towards helping Kamloops children who cannot afford to play for hockey.
