Marion Patricia Hill (nee Tkachuk) 1951 – 2018

With deep regret and sorrow, we said goodbye to our Patty on February 02,2018. Patty was born on July 15, 1951 in the small town of Lac La Biche, Alberta. For many years Patty and her husband Don lived in Williams Lake, BC where they raised their sons, Stuart, Joe and Don Jr. When their sons had grown and moved on to begin adult lives of their own, Patty and Don decided to move to Salmon Arm BC, where they had vacationed with their sons. Patty always said that moving to Salmon Arm was like moving to “God’s Country.” Patty always had a warm smile for everyone she met, but as her family we enjoyed a different side of her: The jokester. She loved to tease and make her family members laugh. Her joy came from her family and loved ones around her. Patty never forgot birthdays, or special holidays and often said “I love you.” She always talked about her loving husband Don. Whenever she spoke of her sons, she did so with love and pride in her voice and always referred to them as “My boys.”

We will carry our memories of her, all of her smiles and laughter, like prized jewels forever forged into our hearts. She will be remembered for being the glue that held her family together, a wonderful sister, the best mother her boys could ask for, amazing wife, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend.

Patty was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Katherine Tkaczuk, her brother Ron, and sister Katherine. Patty leaves to mourn her, her loving husband and partner of 50 years, Don Hill, son Stuart, son Joe and wife Melinda, son Don and wife Angie, her sister Susan and husband Lloyd, her niece Kelly and husband Graeme, her beautiful grandchildren Alythea, Aryana and Zachary, and all of her other family and friends. “May a gentle breeze dry your tears. May you know that I wait by the garden gate. For when God calls you home, I will be waiting to take your hand and lead the way.”
