October 31, 1944 – November 29, 2019

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of our father, Fred Albert Saxby.

Fred leaves behind his children; Bill (Donna) Saxby, Leslie (Liam) Saxby, and Joanne (Tim) Stoddart, and his grandchildren; Kaylee, Karlee, Amanda, Laura, Tyler, and Robbie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fred is predeceased by his parents Fred Sr. and Maude Saxby, siblings Jackie (brother), Doreen (Laluk) Saxby(sister), and dearly missed his recently departed daughter in law Karen Saxby.

Fred was born and raised in North Vancouver. He began his career as a meat cutter at the age of 13, training under master butcher, Bill Westwood. Fred plied his trade for National Meats, Woodwards, Super Value, and was meat manager for Safeway until his retirement, when he moved to Kamloops to be closer to friends and family.

Fred loved fishing, hunting, and camping with his family in the great outdoors. He loved old movies, old cars, and working in his garden. He also loved cooking and the occasional Budweiser beer. He was always a big fan of Muhammad Ali.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Heffley Creek Hall 6995 Old Highway 5, Kamloops. Donations can be made to Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice in Fred’s name. Condolences may be sent to the family at DrakeCremation.com
