SCHEER IS DONE
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer steps down
Dec 12, 2019 | 12:53 AM
OTTAWA — Andrew Scheer is stepping down as the Conservative leader.
He made the announcement to his caucus this morning (Dec. 12).
The decision comes less than two months after a disappointing election result and after weeks of Conservative infighting about whether he should have a future as the head of the party.
Reports indicate Scheer will stay on as leader until a replacement can be found.
