ALICIA KEYS DROPS NEW SONG ‘TIME MACHINE’: Alicia Keys is back with new music amid the news that she’s going to host the Grammy Awards for a second time. Keys dropped her new song “Time Machine” along with an accompanying music video. Alicia wrote the song with Sebastian Kole and Rob Knox. The music video, which sees the singer giving roller skating vibes in neon at the famous World on Wheels in Los Angeles, features a cameo from Tierra Whack.
MEGHAN TRAINOR, MAX PERFORMING AHEAD OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Meghan Trainor, Lauren Daigle and MAX are performing in New Orleans early next year ahead of the College Football Playoff National Championship. MAX will take the stage January 11th as part of the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! festival, while Meghan will perform on January 12th. Lauren will sing the national anthem prior to kickoff of the national championship game on January 13th. Other performers include H.E.R., Nas, Bastille, and Tim McGraw. The three days of music concerts leading up to the big game will all take place at the Big Easy’s Woldenberg Park and are free and open to the public. The National Championship game will be played at New Orleans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
KATY, LUKE, LIONEL, AND RYAN RETURN FOR A NEW SEASON OF ‘IDOL’ ON FEBRUARY 16th: American Idol is returning a little early this year. The hit ABC singing competition typically premieres in March, but Season 3 is set to begin on February 16th. The stars of the show announced the start of the 2020 season by posting a shared FaceTime call on their socials. Host Ryan Seacrest kicks things off by dialing Luke Bryan, before conferencing in Lionel Richie, who answers with his trademark “Hello!” Katy Perry joins in, with her just-washed hair up in an Idol blue towel. Ryan then reveals the date. This Sunday, three fan favorites from past seasons of the show will have the chance to be voted back on Idol during the American Music Awards on ABC. The winner will be revealed during the Monday finale of Dancing with the Stars.
