Clouston appreciative of experience in Medicine Hat, despite firing
KAMLOOPS — Shaun Clouston says it’s just another game, but when he faces his former team on Saturday for the first time, you know he’ll have some extra motivation.
The Blazers, following their trip to Seattle, return home to play the Medicine Hat Tigers, the team that fired Clouston in May after 16 seasons with the franchise.
“What will be neat for me is to see a lot of people — coaches and players that I’ve worked with for a number of years,” said Clouston. “Other than that, it’s just another game and get our team prepared.”
When Clouston was let go, the Tigers were making room for Willie Desjardins to return behind the bench. Clouston says there is no animosity towards Desjardins. Instead, he’s reflecting on his decade and a half in Medicine Hat, including seven years as an assistant to Desjardins.
