Statistics Canada: B.C. unemployment rate best in country

OTTAWA — The unemployment rate in October was unchanged from the September figure, sitting at 5.5 percent.

The B.C. rate continues to be the best in the country, at 4.7 percent.

Employment increased by 15,000 in B.C. in October according to the latest release by Stats Canada.

B.C.’s rate was 1-10th point lower than the 4.8 percent in September, and is the only province with a rate below 5.0%.
