VINCE VAUGHN, SHARON HORGAN SIGN ON FOR THE LAST DROP: Vince Vaughn and Sharon Horgan are set to star in Christopher Storer‘s romantic dramedy The Last Drop. 21 Laps‘ Oscar-nominated Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing. The story follows culinary show host Clay (Vaughn), a bon vivant whose career is at a crossroads; he encounters Holly (Horgan), a spitfire antiques dealer who sees through Clay and helps him find a new direction in life. “Clay requires a nuanced performance as he is both incredibly charming and seriously flawed, and with Vince’s ability to be exceptionally funny while at the same time highly affecting, he is perfectly cast in the role,” Levy, Levine and Cohen said in a statement. “We are thrilled to be working with Vince again and can’t wait to see the chemistry he and Sharon will share on screen. Chris comes from a strong background of comedy and has really extended his range with ‘Ramy,’ which is utterly compassionate while never missing a comedic beat.”

SHAMELESS CREATOR REBOOTING STATE OF PLAY FOR BBC: Shameless creator Paul Abbott is rebooting his award-winning BBC One drama State of Play for the BBC, Deadline reports. The original series featured David Morrissey, John Simm, Bill Nighy, James McAvoy and Kelly MacDonald. The cast and production timeline is TBD.

GREY‘S BOSS TAKES ON ERIN BROCKOVICH SERIES FOR ABC: Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff is teaming up with activist Erin Brockovich to bring her life to a series on ABC, some 20 years after 2000’s Erin Brockovich, starring Julia Roberts as the titular character, came to the big screen. Dubbed Rebel, the show will follow Brockovich today. Vernoff will write the script and executive produce the drama alongside Brockovich.

ANDI MATICHAK, EMILE HIRSCH JOIN SON: Andi Matichak, who recently starred with Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween, is set for Ivan Kavanaugh‘s horror Son. Matichak and Emile Hirsch will lead the film, which is set to shoot beginning in January of 2020. The film will follow a mother who escapes from a demonic cult as a child.
