Coldplay with Special Live Stream

Coldplay announced on Friday (November 1st) that the band will perform its upcoming eighth studio album, Everyday Life, at a pair of livestream concert events in Amman, Jordan.

Coldplay: Everyday Life – Live in Jordan will air live on YouTube in two parts, mirroring the two halves of the Everyday Life double album, “Sunrise” and “Sunset.” The “Sunrise” portion will begin on November 21st at 11:00 p.m. ET, just before the album is released worldwide at midnight on the 22nd — which is just around sunrise in Jordan according to local time. “Sunset” will be performed at 9:00 a.m. ET, which is sunset in the Middle Eastern nation.

This will be the band’s first ever live performance in Jordan, inspired by the Middle Eastern influences on the new LP. The band said in a statement, “These two broadcasts have been our dream since we first started work on this album. It’s a bit impossible and a bit scary, like all the best dreams. YouTube is the perfect home for it.”

In addition a teaser for the event, Coldplay has also posted a mock “press conference” on its YouTube page, starring Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen from Portlandia as music journalists.

Everyday Life is Coldplay’s first full-length collection of new music since 2015’s A Head Full Of Dreams. The group has already released two tracks from the 52-minute disc, “Arabesque” and “Orphans,” the latter accompanied by a music video. The band also appeared on Saturday Night Live this weekend (November 2nd), performing “Orphans” and the new album’s title track.
