TRU WolfPack basketball opens 2019-20 season with weekend sweep

KAMLOOPS — Both Thompson Rivers University WolfPack basketball teams opened the Canada West regular season with a sweeping weekend.

After taking the visiting Trinity Western University Spartans 70-67 Friday evening (Nov. 2), the WolfPack women downed the Spartans again last night (Nov. 3) in a 60-50 win.

The Pack were led by Leilani Carney (Burnaby) and Emma Piggin (Kamloops) with 12 points each, while third year Jordon Haggerty (Saskatoon, SK) contributed 11 points.

Meanwhile the men finished off their opening weekend in similar winning fashion- taking the Spartans for a second straight night in an 85-70 game yesterday.
