KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say three people escaped injury Sunday night (Oct. 27) after a truck crashed into their Valleyview home.

The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. in the 2300-block of the East Trans Canada Highway frontage road.

According to an RCMP news release, after a pickup truck left the frontage road and hit the home, two men took off on foot.

Witnesses to the crash alerted responding officers to the suspects’ direction of travel, and the officers found the suspects a short time later.

The 23-year-old driver has been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and not having a driver’s license. He was also issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impound.

RCMP say there were three people inside the home at the time. They weren’t injured, but there was substantial damage to the house.
