Surveillance video shows suspects igniting damaging fire at Country Auto Sales

KAMLOOPS — Following an alleged, intentionally lit vehicle fire at a North Shore car dealership, the owners hope witnesses will come forward and speak with police.

Just after 6:00 a.m. today (Oct. 25), Kamloops Fire Rescue crews were called to Country Auto Sales on 8th Street, where three trucks were engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but three of the dealership’s vehicles did receive some hefty damage.

Surveillance footage shows two suspects involved — one approaching first and peering through the windows, and a second arriving with what looks to be a jerry can of gasoline.

After spreading the fuel underneath the trucks, a fire erupted, and the two suspects quickly took off.

Given how many vehicles were driving by at the time of the incident, Country Auto Sales hopes anyone who may have seen the suspects will pass that information along to Kamloops RCMP.
