Overturned truck snarls traffic near Yellowhead Highway interchange

KAMLOOPS — Emergency crews are on scene of an overturned lumber truck near downtown Kamloops.

The truck is lying on its side near the interchange of Battle Street, Columbia Street and the Yellowhead Highway.

The driver suffered minor injuries, and traffic is snarled in the area.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says there is currently alternating traffic.

“It will take some time to clear the truck and the lumber from the road,” Shelkie says. “Motorists are asked to avoid this intersection/off-ramp for the next hour or so.”
