Expect delays on Coquihalla highway this morning

KAMLOOPS — Overnight snow has led to several problems on the Coquihalla Highway through the night and into Tuesday morning (Oct. 8).

According to DriveBC, compact snow and slush are causing slippery sections on the highway between Hope and Kamloops.

There’s also limited visibility on the highway due to blowing snow. A vehicle incident involving two semi-trucks caused significant delays southbound on the highway this morning.

Yesterday, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for highway passes, including the Coquihalla, due to potential snowfall.

The statement was still in effect as of Tuesday morning.
