KAMLOOPS — The Blazers were winners of their previous three games before the Everett Silvertips rolled into town Saturday night.

The ‘Tips scored early, going up 2-0 on a pair of Bryce Kindopp goals in the first period.

Kamloops would score early in the second, as Connor Zary sniped his third of the year.

Everett would answer back, as Czech import Michael Gut got his first WHL goal in his second career game to take a 3-1 lead.

Kamloops cut the lead again, as Caedan Bankier picked up his first-ever WHL goal at the 14:39 mark of the second period.

That’s as close as the Blazers would come. They peppered Silvertips netminder Dustin Wolf with 15 shots in the final frame, but Wolf stopped them all. He finished the game with 34 saves on 36 shots in the 3-2 victory.

Dylan Garand made his sixth start in seven games for Kamloops. He stopped 21 of 24 shots faced but failed to pick up his fourth win in a row.

These two teams will play a rematch in Everett on Friday, October 11th. The Blazers then head to Kelowna on October 12th to take on the Rockets.
