Blazers overwhelm Seattle for third win in a row

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers overwhelmed the Seattle Thunderbirds 8-1 Wednesday night for their third win in a row.

Kamloops opened the scoring in the first on Kyrell Sopotyk’s first of the season.

Seattle tied it on a goal by Connor Roulette to make it 1-1 after the first.

After that, it was all Blazers, with five goals in the second by Brodi Stuart, Sopotyk with his second of the game, Connor Zary, Sean Strange,and Martin Lang.

With the door kicked in, they added two more in the third, both by Orrin Centazzo.

Centazzo has four goals and eight points in the last three games, in which the Blazers have outscored their opponents 17-5.

Dylan Garand stopped 25 of 26 shots while Roddy Ross and Blake Lyda combined for 34 saves on 42 Kamloops shots.

The Blazers went 2-for-5 on the power play, while Seattle was 0-for-4.
