KAMLOOPS — Family Justice Counsellor Cynthia Egli will be the NDP’s candidate for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo in next month’s federal election.

Egli is the third candidate for the party in this riding, after Gina Myhill-Jones withdrew for personal reasons, and Dock Currie withdrew after certain social media comments from his past were revealed.

Egli works as a counsellor and mediator with the B.C. Ministry of the Attorney-General, is a member of the BCGEU provincial executive, and part owner of a small business.

She holds a Masters Degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She is married and she and her husband have two daughters.

In a party news release, Egli is quoted as saying she was raised on the values of putting people first, and that means fighting for workers, families, seniors, students and those left behind by the Liberal and Conservative governments.
