KAMLOOPS — The writ has been dropped, parliament has been dissolved, and federal election campaigning has officially begun.

Kamloops-Thompson -Cariboo is seen by the Liberals as a winnable riding with candidate Terry Lake expected to give incumbent Conservative MP Cathy McLeod a run for her money in this riding. The federal strategists for the Liberals obviously agree.

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau pays a visit to Kamloops today. He’s appearing at an event with Lake during the noon hour in Kamloops after visiting Vancouver yesterday. Trudeau will make a stop in Victoria this morning before heading to Kamloops.

He will do some mainstreeting downtown during the noon hour, then attend a rally with Lake at Liberal campaign headquarters at 12:30 PM. Trudeau then heads to Edmonton to meet with candidates in northern Alberta.
