CFJC columnist Rothenburger nominated for Jack Webster Award

KAMLOOPS — A columnist for CFJC TV and CFJC Today has been nominated for a prestigious Jack Webster Award.

Mel Rothenburger, Kamloops’s venerable Armchair Mayor, is a finalist in the category of Commentator of the Year — City Mike Award.

Rothenburger is nominated after the selection panel considered his March column, “We’ve got to talk about suicide” and his April column, “Reflections on having become an old man.”

There are two other finalists in the category — Sandy Garossino of the National Observer and Daphne Bramham of the Vancouver Sun.
