Chance the Rapper’s Big Decision

Chance the Rapper has postponed most of the dates on his upcoming tour following the birth of his second daughter.

Chance took to Instagram to announce he’ll be postponing his previously scheduled tour in support of his latest album The Big Day until 2020. He wants to spend time with his kids, including his and his wife’s newborn daughter, Marli Bennett.

“This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work,” the father of two shared in a lengthy caption, which accompanied a photo of himself and his daughters.

Chance then went on to explain that when his first child, Kensli Bennett, was born, he hit the road two weeks later and “missed some of the most important milestones in her life.”

“At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again,” the “No Problem” artist continued. “I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.”

He added, “I apologize because I know how many people were counting on seeing me soon, but I hope you’ll understand and forgive me in time.”

Chance said the tour would resume on January 15, 2020, and that fans who’d already purchased tickets could get refunds via his personal website.

In a press release, Live Nation said, “We congratulate Chance on the birth of his daughter and support him while he takes time to be with his family. We are thrilled to welcome him back on the road in 2020.”

Chance still has one show in Chicago on September 28th, as well as festival sets in Las Vegas and Miami.
