TRU campus energized with annual back to school BBQ

KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University welcomed students today with its annual Back to School barbeque.

It was a busy afternoon as thousands of students flocked to campus to take in the TRU Student Union’s yearly event.

TRU VP of Finance, Matt Milovick was volunteering, and says the event brings a high-energy atmosphere.

“It’s a really great opportunity for us — the university administration, the faculty, to connect with students,” he explains. “We’re the ones cooking the hot dogs and burgers and serving it, and it gives us an opportunity to interact with them. And it’s a great environment. There’s a great vibe; we’ve got a lot of the community here.”
