KAMLOOPS — The lightning system that tore through the B.C. Interior last night (Sept. 3) sparked several new fires, but the B.C. Wildfire Service says none of them are particularly threatening.

According to a social media post, the Kamloops Fire Centre had several new wildfires pop up. Officials say the fires are all spot-sized and they do not threaten communities.

Hot and dry weather is expected for the rest of the week, and the service encourages the public to report any new fire starts they may see.
