BARRIERE — Opening day has passed, but there is still time for people to check out the 70th annual North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo.

The BC Rodeo Association Polaris Championship Finals Rodeo marks one of the highlights of the event, with competitors working towards provincial titles. Spectators can also find lawn mower races in the rodeo arena.

A variety of events compliment a fully packed weekend of rodeo and 4-H competitions, including the Bull of the Woods Amateur Logger Sports Competition today (Sunday, Sept. 1).

Men’s and women’s events include axe throwing, double bucking, a stock saw race, bush saw race, pole climbing, a choker race, log rolling, and a relay team race for businesses.

And in the exhibit hall, many vendors from around the North Thompson and BC will have their wares for sale and display.

Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, kids 10 & under are free, and this year, organizers are celebrating the 70th birthday by offering free admission to anyone turning 70 in 2019 (ID proof required).
