REVELSTOKE, B.C. — Police and the BC Coroners Service are investigating after a body was discovered in a submerged vehicle in Griffin Lake last week.

In a news release, Revelstoke RCMP say just after 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 21, officers were called to Griffin Lake for a report of a vehicle submerged in the lake, roughly 10 feet from the shore line.

With help from residents, RCMP were guided to the site and found a vehicle that appeared to have been submerged for “some time”.

On Aug. 24, a local towing company along with investigators and the RCMP underwater recovery team returned to the lake and recovered and older model Honda Accord, with the body of an adult woman inside.
