KAMLOOPS — Greg Stewart battled through a back injury to take silver in the shot put at the ParaPan Am games in Lima, Peru.

Stewart had a throw of 14.96 metres.

“What a fun experience, to fly all the way down to South America, and spend some time in Lima, Peru.” says Stewart, who holds the Canadian record of 15.80.

” Last week I fell and pulled my back out, and on Friday I felt pretty unsure on whether I was going to be able to compete today. My physiotherapist, as well as my massage therapist did an extraordinary job pulling me back together. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to competing at Worlds in November. Shout out to all the athletes competing here at the para Pan American Games, continue to strive forward, push the limits, and be the best that you can be. Remember, Have Fun, do what you want to do and keep loving yourself. Also, a congratulations to Joshua Cinnamo on throwing a hefty world-record.”
