100 Mile House family safe after home destroyed in weekend fire
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — Members of a 100 Mile House family were left with little more than the clothes on their backs after fire destroyed their home early Sunday.
According to 100 Mile House Fire Rescue Chief Roger Hollander, crews were called to the Grey Crescent home at 2:00 Sunday morning, with the caller stating the family was still trapped inside.
Hollander says when firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed, but the two adults, two children and three dogs made it out safely.
“100 Mile House Fire Rescue crews were able to rescue two of the dogs who were on the back porch, trapped by some fire debris. We were able to reunite the family with those two dogs,” said Hollander.
