Kelowna RCMP evacuate city park to investigate explosive device

KELOWNA —The RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit had to attend a park in Kelowna last night after a potential explosive device was reported.

City Park was cleared and the bomb squad called in after the device was spotted.

One male had been taken into custody who had the device with him in the park. The male has since been released pending further investigation.

The Police are still examining the item however at this particular junction it is believed to be a smoke grenade.
