Weather in July continues to provide a mix of scenarios

KAMLOOPS — The latest forecast from Environment Canada is showing more of that higher temperature, summertime weather for Kamloops and the surrounding areas.

Meteorologist Chris Emond says the start of the week is shaping up to be even warmer than the weekend, with a high of 34 expected.

“It’s certainly a change from the last few years where we’ve been so dry, with lots of fires and smoke,” He says, “It’s certainly wetter than we have seen in recently years, and in terms of normals, we’ve been a little bit more June-like in our early July than would be typical.”

However, Emond says the rest of the week appears to be a bit of a mixed bag for conditions. “We are in store for a change. It looks like a trough moving on over the Interior beginning on Tuesday, or even Monday night. So we’ll see increasing cloudiness.”
