REVELSTOKE, B.C. — UPDATE: Police are releasing more information about an early morning crash near Revelstoke.

Police say in a news release that just before 5:00 a.m. emergency responders attended the crash on Highway 1 roughly 33 kilometres east of Revelstoke.

A westbound semi-truck had jack-knifed and came to a rest, blocking both lanes.

The highway was closed for roughly three hours. Police say the driver and his passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and no other vehicles were involved.

Roads were wet from heavy rain. The crash happened in the same spot as yesterday’s fatality that claimed the life of an Alberta man.

Revelstoke RCMP are reminding motorists to maintain the speed limit, and anyone with information is asked to call them at (250) 837-5255.

UPDATE: According to Drive BC, traffic will get through on a single-lane, alternating basis as of 8:30 a.m.

EARLIER: For a second day in a row, the Trans Canada Highway has been closed east of Revelstoke.

According to Drive BC, the highway is closed in both directions after initial reports of a flipped semi.

There is no word on if anyone was injured, or when the route may re-open. Traffic is backing up in the area.

On Wednesday, the highway was closed for several hours east of Revelstoke after a dump truck crash that killed the driver.
