KAMLOOPS — As the weather warms up in Kamloops, police are responding to thefts from vehicles in every neighbourhood in the city.

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says drivers are being reminded to lock their cars and take any valuables out after 58 thefts from vehicles in the city last week.

Police will be releasing a community map at the beginning of each week, which will show the number of an location of thefts from motor vehicles.

“These maps are not just a reminder to motorists to lock their vehicles, but also to all citizens, to remind them that if they see suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhood, to call the police,” Shelkie says.

Below are two maps, one for the North Shore and one for the South Shore. Future maps will include more areas of Kamloops.
