LILLOOET — Officials have outlined a few solutions to keep fish moving in the Fraser River after a landslide in the Big Bar area.

In a release from the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, a team went out, and conducted on-site assessments Friday (July 5).

Heavy rain created some safety challenges for staff out in the field, and work on removing loose rocks in the slide area will continue when conditions improve.

Friday, the BC Government, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, geotechnical engineers, the Canadian Coast Guard, and First Nations all gathered in Lillooet to develop a plan to migrate the fish safely.
